Raiffeisen HQ4 Irodaház

1158 Budapest, Késmárk utca 12-16.

On a characterless and heterogeneously built up location of the suburb, next to a refurbished and a recently built 3-4 storey office building, a new 5-storey “Back Office” was designed to be the third member of the group enclosing a quiet courtyard. The new office building provides working place for 600 Raiffeisen Bank employees.

One of the two parallel wings of the building that looks onto the busy road is a closed mass with window stripes, whereas the other wing looks onto the garden via an all glass climatic facade. A covered atrium connects the two wings with long ramps and a dense raised internal garden.

The bank was open to our environment-conscious design approach and the utilisation of the latest technologies, so active surface heating/cooling and flood-type ventilation was implemented as well as a geothermal heat pump system besides the aforementioned automatically controlled climatic façade system.

As a result, this became the first large scale development in Hungary relying solely on renewable energy and without any gas supply.

From the continuous feedback we know that the system still works well with high energy efficiency, providing a pleasant and comfortable environment for the employees.
